Our Blog

During the project, staff, artist, and volunteers from the community facilitate the creation of a client produced compilation c.d., d.v.d., and/or c.d. rom featuring art and compositions of participants. Participants plan each aspect of the project timeline. The client learns marketable skills in: Teamwork Project Management Marketing Technology Basic Graphics and Design Art Education Employment Skills Leadership Development Intervention Self-Discipline Responsibility Upon entering the studio the client is required to commit and agree to the project terms and conditions. The studio is set up in phases or what we call stages. Each stage is set up as so: Stage 1 (Beginners) Stage 2 (Intermediate) Stage 3 (Advanced) Stage 4 (Production and Marketing) Thru each stage the client is challenged to learn and advance in their own creative style. The client must master each stage as he/she progresses thru the project. The ultimate goal is to achieve the final stage (Production and Marketing). In this stage the client can display their work. While the client is able to work on the art style of choice, it is a requirement to finish 7-10 early intervention videos. The videos will last 10-15 minutes, with a quiz at the end of each video. Because of the initial agreement, the client is committed to participate in the "STUDIO TIME" community. Each of the approved intervention videos will have additional information related to the intervention source. After production the client receives basic graphic and design training to create the cover, artwork and promotional materials. They learn the fundamentals of marketing as they distribute their music and art thru local record stores, vendors and the "Studio Time" internet radio, completing a process that begins with creativity and ends with a finished product. Perhaps music and art as a foundation for success is a part of the fabric of our society. The value of music is widely recognized in many cultures that make up American life. Every human culture uses arts to carry forward its ideas and ideals. The arts can provide effective learning to students, yielding increased academic performance, reduced absenteeism, and better skill building. Creative art doesn’t only make you feel good, it make something far more precious: it makes the world worth living.
